FREEBIES for Veterans

Nov 5, 2009

I have a bunch of FREE deals to tell you about for VETERANS!!! (In honor of Veteran’s Day – but not all the deals are ON Veteran’s Day.)

I am married to a Veteran (and am the daughter of one, too) and so, these are deals that are near and dear to my heart. (Of course, I wish these places would also recognize the enormous sacrifice the spouses make when sending their loved one off to war by giving us a good deal, too – but, oh well, you can’t have everything, now can you?)

Here they are:

1. FREE dinner at McCormick and Schmick’s! This Sunday, the 8th of November, McCormick and Schmick’s is giving free meals to Veterans. Call to make a reservation, because this is a POPULAR deal! Click here for information.

2. FREE entrée at Applebees on Wednesday, November 11th. They have a limited menu you can chose from, but it’s FREE! (Make sure your Applebees is participating by calling ahead.) Click here for information.

3. FREE meal at Golden Corral on Monday, November 16th from 5 – 9 PM. (This is nationwide at every Golden Corral.) Click here for information.

I found a whole bunch of other great deals, but some are specific to local areas. If you are interested in the list, click here. The deals include such things as Buy One, Get One Free meals, Free plastic surgery for Vets who sustained injuries on Active Duty, FREE walking canes, FREE admission to Knotts Berry Farms, FREE football tickets, FREE wedding gowns, FREE admission to Colonial Williamsburg and to all Federal Parks, FREE massages . . . the list goes on.

Also, Home Depot and Lowes offer 10% off during the week of Veteran’s Day.

Check each location, store, or restaurant for what you will need to prove your Veteran status. Some will require a copy of your discharge papers or a current military ID or just a photo of you in uniform.

Don’t forget to pass this on to all the Veterans you know! They deserve these great deals (and much, much more!)

Happy Veteran’s Day!

For one more free and fun thing to do for Veteran's Day, check out MEET ME AT THE CORNER, Virtual Field Trips for Kids.

Take a virtual field trip to San Diego and board the USS MIDWAY. The young host interviews a veteran about his experience aboard ship during the evacuation of Saigon. Links to fun websites and a great addition to your Veteran's Day Celebrations!
